French Lesson Fridays at Rochambeau
Are you interested in learning a foreign language while meeting new people, ordering delicious food, and drinking wine? Well, you've come to the right place! Madame Erin Foley, our French teacher, has many years of experience teaching conversational and AP French. We invite you to join us at Rochambeau every Friday at 6:00 PM for our "French Lesson Friday" series.
What to Expect?
As we explore a new topic, you'll learn the basics of navigating virtually any situation each week. You can attend the entire series or choose your favorite subject! Registration via Eventbrite is required as space is limited for our French Lesson Friday Series. Ticket holders will receive a complimentary glass of wine at the beginning of the class. A variety of food and beverages are available for purchase. We will begin with a meet and greet, followed by seated instruction. While in class, you can enjoy drinks, appetizers, or a full dinner.
What Kind of Conversation is Taught?
Below is a list of the January 2023 classes. Each course discusses a new genre of language. From "Hello & Goodbye" to "Slang and Swearing", we've covered every important topic!
January 13, 2023, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Class Title: Bonjour vs. Bonsoir
Join us on a conversational journey as the day becomes night. Will you know the right things to say…? Learn introductions, including how to state your name, ask how someone is doing and how to say what you do for work in French.
January 20, 2023, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Class Title: Dinner with Friends
Let's go out for dinner in France. We'll teach you how to order, ask for the check, and general restaurant etiquette.
January 27, 2023, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Class Title: Putting Yourself Out There
Learn how to get around the city, take an Uber, grab a cab, take the Paris Métro, get directions and read the basic signs!
February 3, 2023, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Class Title: L'amour
Let's find love. Learn how to take that big step and ask people out on dates, standard pick-up lines, and how to address people adequately and not offend.
February 10, 2023, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Class Title: Slang + Swearing
Let's face it; you're only cool once you talk like the cool kids. This class will discuss casual language, common sayings and phrases, and a few swears. Yeah, we're going there. So - “Battre le fer pendant qu’il est chaud” and book your class today!
